The Horses Blind Spot
The Horses Blind Spot
Did you know horses have almost 360 vision? They can see you while you ride them, all along their body and even under their stomachs! BUT they cannot see directly behind them.
Which makes it a very vulnerable spot. Many horses don’t kick to be mean, but kick in defense of their vulnerability with you being where they can’t see you.
When a horse trusts and respect people, they are more comfortable with you being where they can’t see you and rarely would ever kick. But it’s still good to respect it, and always let them know when you’re passing through and to stand to the side so they can see you while grooming.
When you understand why horses do the things they do, you are able to properly communicate with them.
